Paramount Pictures The world remains silent but deadly in the sequel to 2018's horrifying thriller A Quiet Place. A Quiet Place Part II picks up immediately after where the original movie, directed and co-written by John Krasinski, left off. Previously, Krasinski called the flick a "love letter" to his children. The first full trailer teases what will undoubtedly be another unsettling installment in what quickly became one of 2018's most harrowing experiences. Set in the near future after a blind, extraterrestrial life form that hunts by sound and hits Earth, the first installment of the story was absolutely terrifying. The creatures forced humanity to remain as tight-lipped as possible, because any sound could signal where people are to these keen-eared predators. Imagine giving birth in such an environment. That's exactly what Blunt's character had to do, and then take care of a newborn baby in a world where making too much noise could spell your doom. This time, the Abbott family, lead by Emily Blunt, are forced to leave the safety of their home and explore the unknown. There, they'll find additional threats beyond the sound-driven enemies they've been facing for so long. What could be more vicious? It's hard to say, but it looks like Part II will introduce something even more sinister than the hunters the Abbotts originally tangled with. The trailer lines out just a few of the scares theatergoers will find themselves contending with throughout the new film, and we've got to say, it looks pretty nerve-wracking. Paramount Pictures Just make sure that, no matter what takes place on-screen, you don't scream. You wouldn't want to attract those creatures, would you? Level 1 Paramount needs a win & I Bet the budget is in check but I Just have a gut feeling that this is going to make less than the first one. level 2 Open higher but worse legs level 2 I think part of the first ones success was it's novelty. Now that is out the window so we'll see how much audiences like this series. level 2 I think so too. Krasinsky is a draw and I think this one will fizzle our a little bit. level 1 Very interesting. Personally, I think it looks great, but I wonder if a big draw of the first one was the “quiet” gimmick. This seems much louder. I think it comes in just under the first one. $320M WW level 1 The box office could be higher or lower than the first level 2 could also be exactly the same level 2 All I know is my gut says maybe level 1 Looks good! The first one was amazing, to experience it in the cinemas was very entertaining. I was scared to even eat my popcorn because of the noise. Hope the second one will deliver it as good as the first one. level 1 Looks promising but does look a lot less unique than the first, especially with the whole "humans are the real monsters" line Probably weaker critical reception (somewhere in the 60s like IT Chapter 2) will bring it down a bit from the first but it will still do well. DOM: $130M WW: $295M level 2 If this movie gets an IT Chapter 2 critical response I'll eat my lunch. A Quiet Place got much stronger reviews than IT Chapter 1 so that would be a much larger drop in quality. Additionally this trailer looks very good and I doubt this will have the runtime issue that IT did. level 1 This looks like to have more action scenes with bigger sets compared to the first one. I just hope that it does not go into full-on action territory with little genuine horror scenes in it. Speaking as a horror-movie fan, the simpler the better. Should rake in similar money as the first movie if the reviews are not bad. Chillian Murphy and Djimon Honsou are welcome addition to the cast. level 2 I thoroughly enjoyed the first, but am honestly more excited about this one because of Murphy & Hounsou. Would love to see it outperform the first, but I don't think we'll have a good feel for the chances of a very warm reception until the week before it opens. It's fascinating how Cillian Murphy always does slightly different American accents, and they're all really good. level 1 Looks fantastic. I think this will make similar numbers like the first one (300M+ WW). level 1 Loved it. Will definitely watch it on big screen. level 1 Should see a slight decrease from the first film. I’m thinking $300-330M. The film looks really terrifying as fuck. level 1 Looks great! and can't wait to see this! Though the concept seemed to have changed for this movie, turned into more of a "The 5th Wave" type apocalypse movie, rather than the more creative and suspenseful setting of the first Quiet Place.... it will probably make less rip.... level 1 I was skeptical when it was announced. A Quiet Place seemed like a perfect one off that didn't need any more exploration. But this looks really good.
